Privacy Policy

for BibleChat (iOS App)

Last updated: 18 October 2025

Your privacy matters. BibleChat is designed to work with minimal data. We do not create accounts, we do not run ads, and we do not use third‑party analytics SDKs.

Summary

Data We Collect

We intentionally seek to collect no personal data. Specifically:

How Your Inputs Are Processed

Apple Intelligence (On‑device)

On compatible devices and iOS versions, BibleChat requests AI completions through Apple Intelligence. Processing occurs on your device for the supported tasks. For features where Apple may use privacy‑preserving cloud processing, Apple’s Private Cloud Compute and related policies apply. We do not receive your prompts or outputs from this on‑device path.

OpenAI API (Fallback for non‑supported devices)

If your device doesn’t support the Apple Intelligence features required by BibleChat, the app may use the OpenAI API to generate a response. In that case, the text you type (your “prompt”) and the generated response are transmitted to OpenAI for processing. BibleChat does not add any personal identifiers to your prompt.

Tip: Avoid sharing sensitive personal information in prompts. If you do, that information will be included in the request sent to our model provider.

Third‑Party Services

Data Retention

Security

We use industry‑standard transport security (HTTPS/TLS) for any network requests. Because BibleChat is designed to minimize data collection, the attack surface is reduced. Still, no method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.

Your Rights

Depending on your region (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit the processing of your data. Because we don’t maintain user accounts or store your data on our servers, most requests can be fulfilled by deleting or resetting the app’s local data on your device. If you have questions, contact us (see below).

Children’s Privacy

BibleChat is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the OpenAI fallback path, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

International Use

If you use BibleChat from outside your home country, your prompts may be processed by servers located in other jurisdictions when the OpenAI API is used, subject to the provider’s infrastructure and policies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect product or legal changes. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide in‑app notice.
